Celestron 102mm refractor - Celestron Omni XLT 102mm Refractor Telescope - 21088

This is an excellent value in an astronomical telescope of the refracting type. The optics and German equatorial mount are very good and provide excellent stable viewing. Many accessories, such as eye piece kits are available for this telescope at reasonable prices.

It is a traditional astronomical telescope, with German equatorial mount and is not for the viewer who relies on automatic pointing by computer to find objects in the sky, but rather for the amateur willing to learn about extraterrestrial objects and how to find those objects in the traditional manner using sky maps, setting circles and by sky hopping.
Pros: Good optics and solid mount work together to provide excellent viewing. Easy to set up with clear instructions. Excellent value for the money.
Cons: None for a knowledgeable buyer. Aperture is smaller than available with other telescope types. Not for the user who relies on electronics to find objects in the sky.
