I had been looking for a higher power scope for target shooting, one that wasn't $2K. I tried this one but I wasn't expecting a lot given the other failures I had bought and tested. But this one surprised me. Quality construction and design. Good (if not great) optics. There was no noticeable reduction in sharpness from 10x to 50x. There was a slight dimming at 50x but the sharpness was basically the same as the lower magnifications. This is a great scope at any price. Try it if you are looking for a higher power scope, however be advised it is not a small scope. The other review said they mounted it on an AR-15. It is almost as big as an AR-15. I'm also not sure why you would need a 50X scope on an AR-15
