I was concerned about reviews that said that the coating was flaking off so i contacted streamlight - Cloud Defensive Light Control System w/Streamlight ProTac Rail-Mount HLX 1000 Lumen LCS Series

I was concerned about the reviews that said that the coating was flaking off so I contacted Streamlight and they told me that they manufacture all of these lights in BLACK and there's NEVER a problem with flaking. HOWEVER, they sell truckloads of the lights to Cloud Defensive to bundle with their Light Control System. It is Cloud Defensive that adds the non-black colored coatings that flake off. So I bought the black and I'm not having the flaking issue and can tell I won't. Otherwise, the light and LCS are fantastic.
