Keith M's Review of CobraTec Knives Regent Folding Knife
A very good knife but a little overpriced if not on sale. I got it on the sister company sale price of $114 so it was well worth that price. I have a couple of similar knifes. A bugout in s30v and the Kershaw BelAir in Magnacut. I would say this knife sits right between them. Its got aluminum handles Vs Bugouts plastic handles and feels a little better built. Came very sharp and zero play. It’s closer to the BelAir than the Bugout in build and feel. But the BelAir, with its Magnacut, if paying full price for both, wins. The S35vn is definitely done well. If this knife was in Magnacut it would be worth the full price and just as good as the BelAir. It’s very well done. I will say this I did have to strop the Belair. At first it didn’t impress me but then i stropped it for just a few passes and have touched it since. I’ve actually only had a few knives out the box that came without having to strop them to get the real edge. This is one, Spyderco Smock, and James Brand Wells. It’s not a big deal to strop something but it’s nice they send it the real way it’s intended. Every other knife I ever got improved considerably with a quick strop. So good job PR! That’s the signature of the quality control sign off. No complaints here.
Pros:
Very sharp and smooth
Cons:
A bit over priced considering the Kershaw & hogue exist in magnacut
Best Used for:
EDC
