FUPA Slayer's Review of Cold Steel Espada XL AUS10A 7.5in Folding Knife

This is my daily primary carry knife, because it really is the best knife I've ever owned, and I've owned them all. Even Benchmade takes a back seat to this one and I couldve bought 10 of these for the price of the one benchmade and not have to worry about getting it dirty, scratched, lost or stolen like you do with BM. However, there is one major problem with this knife that could be easily rectified as I know I'm not the only one to complain about this, and that is the size of the pocket clip. It is pathetic! I've checked all of my other knives, even the 2"er's and they all have an appropriately sized clip in comparison to the overall size of the knife. Of course, this is not an easy fix for the customer. I do not know why, but there are zero universal clips that can be bought independently that will fit this knife, so I've had to modify mine to accommodate a suitable clip and that requires drilling into the kydex, which I hate to do. During production, they should add several threaded holes for the numerous clip that are available, and why not? One of the biggest selling points to everything is comfortability, and being able to comfortably carry a knife this size requires a clip that can handle the task. Why, or who decided this clip was adequate after having built and designed the best knife on earth, only to fall short entirely when applying the means to carry it is a fascinating detail that I don't care much about..In fact, don't use screws at all for the clip. Use a piece of the sheath/ handle as the clip, even on lock blades. Problem solved, forever! I will not upgrade to the $300.00 version until the clip is upgraded to a cub scout level, at least. Still a 5 star knife and that is my rating. 5 stars!
