Pros, cons, comparison, fits legion p229, better than custom holsters - Comp-Tac International Outside The Waistband Holster - Glock

This Comp-Tac International holster for the P229 Elite will fit the Legion P229. I called Comp Tac direct and they said it would not fit the Legion but I can tell you with 100% certainty it will fit the Legion P229 with no issues what so ever; fits perfectly. Let me say at this juncture that all kydex holsters rub the frame somewhere and with Sigs weak coatings you will have some finish wear from any kydex holster out there. Like most if not all those reading this, I have several custom made kydex holsters but none of them are the level of "form fitted" quality of the comp tac. For a versatile OWB practice/training holster don't waste your time and money on all the custom options out there. If comp tac has a holster to fit your pistol you won't be disappointed. It has all around a better fit and finish along with a contoured mount to fit your hip better than OWB holsters with wings and extended belt loops that don't conform as well to a 3 o'clock position; plus, the comp tac gives you more options for growth and adjustment. The comp tac has more positional options and is optic ready which the majority of custom holsters cannot offer an "all-in-one" design; and, custom holsters are almost always bulkier,aka, wider and taller which takes up more room in my bag. I am a thinner framed individual; so, maybe for the wider framed individual they would not notice or experience the sloppier fit of a custom holster so much since there would be more width to disperse a wider custom holster profile. With a more contoured fit on your side not only do you get greater long term comfort but you also do not have to over tighten your belt to get a secure fit even while moving fast. The comp tac is a more minimalist OWB design. I enjoy supporting my local and national custom holster makers and I will continue to do so but the fact is this holster is far superior in many respects and the only thing I regret is that I didn't find it sooner; so, the only Con would be that they don't make a comp tac holster for every ones side arm; but, if they do make a version for your specific pistol, don't waste any more time and money, get the highest fit and finish, greatest comfort and most versatile holster right out of the box and for typically less $ than a custom job. I'm glad I did.
