Michael Drapp's Review of Comp-Tac Paddle Outside The Waistband Holster

I find that this holster is very fast from the strong-side 3 o'clock position. It can ride a bit forward at 2:30 or behind at 3:30 without hampering the draw stroke. It tends to ride close to the legs but not extremely close to the body. This can be advantageous in that it is easy to establish a full grip on the pistol; particularly under stress. The down side, of course, is that this holster is harder to conceal than an IWB or AIWB holster, or some closer riding OWB holsters like the Dale Fricke Gideon Elite or Kramer MSP Paddle. For range work or competition it is excellent; particularly at its price point. I did not notice any tendency for this holster to shift on my belt nor did it tend to ride up during the draw stroke; it is a very stable holster for a paddle design. If it would ride a bit closer to the body, I would give it 5-stars. Some may prefer that it ride a bit higher for concealed work; particularly if you carry a larger handgun like a Glock 22 or 1911. I carry a Glock 23 for CCW and find that the mid-ride height of this holster is acceptable to me. It also carries well in the cross draw position around 10 o'clock.
