Most Helpful Positive Review Great Quality but runs small
I really wish this had fit but it runs small in my opinion I ordered XXL needed at least XXXL, nice jacket anyway. Be careful in what size you order if you hit the gym much arms and chest are on the small side.

high quality jacket for reasonable price

by Tman, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on December 13, 2021
I got this item about 2 weeks ago and have worn it daily in nasty Pacific Northwest winter weather: chilly temps, drizzle, frequent wind. I am very impressed at this very light-weight jacket's ability to keep out the wind and, with just a light wool or down layer underneath, keep me plenty warm. The overall quality is high, with good zippers, multiple deep pockets inside and out, and an oversized hood that rolls nicely into the collar (providing additional insulation for the back of the neck). It's a "tactical" jacket so be aware of the one peculiar design feature if you're just getting for everyday use: the front pockets are chest high, not at the waist/stomach area, so it's a little odd if you're used to sticking your hands in your coat pockets when outside. (The design lets the user access the front pockets while wearing a tactical vest with mag pouches and other gear)

Quick note on size, which some people say runs small. Not in my experience. I'm 6', 200 pounds, and pretty long arms (34-35" shirt sleeves). The Large fits me perfectly. I tried an XL but returned it. It was too big... kind of floppy and the sleeves drooped down to the knuckles on my hands.

If this had another brand name on it, like North Face or Eddie Bauer, you'd easily pay 2-3 times as much. If you're on the fence, just get it.

Not bulky but VERY WARM

by Christine, from CA, United States Written on December 27, 2019
Bought this as a gift for my bf who is 6'2" and consistent 3x. It fit perfectly in size, length and sleeve length. It wasn't bulky in appearance, was relatively light weight and he said it was comfortable. However, he said it caused him to get too warm... if there's such a thing? He also had issue with the front pockets being very high and the collar being lumpy because of the enclosed hood. Although we returned his, I'm contemplating getting one for me cuz it was VERY NICE and I don't believe in too warm.
Pros:
  • Very warm
Cons:
  • Front pockets were awkwardly high. The hood inside the neck made the collar somewhat uncomfortable.
Best Used for:
  • Outdoor activities

It works as advertised but has a couple of minor knitpicks

by Lycanit, from GA, United States Written on January 8, 2019
The jacket works as you expect. The collar with the hood tucked in it is quite stiff and does not want to lie on your shoulders it prefers to stick straight out keeping the jacket open. Depending on how you like to wear your jacket this could be a great thing or a terrible thing. I'm working with repacking the collar to see if I can help change this. Otherwise the jacket works quite well have not had it in rain at the moment but I suspect it was at least keep me semi dry. The zipper is functional but does have to be coaxed a little bit. Considering the price not a bad purchase at all.
Pros:
  • windproof
  • Appears to be well made.
  • Lightweight and not insulated
Cons:
  • Lightweight and not insulated. Be prepared
  • Zippers can be a bit fussy on the main
  • Sizing for me is a little unusual. But be aware
Best Used for:
  • A cover jacket for spring or fall with a base layer and mid-layer. And expecting a possibility of any Mister rain

Good jacket for the money

by Pinky, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on December 13, 2018
I bought this because I needed a new rain jacket. It works very well, but I've had the zipper at the bottom mess up and start coming apart even though it was zipped once now, hopefully not again. It also had these little tabs underneath by the hips, and one got caught and ripped with little to no effort. Its still functional, just wish they would've sewn it on with more rigid material.
Pros:
  • light
  • Waterproof
Cons:
  • broke easy
Best Used for:
  • Outdoors

Great deal and fast shipping! Quality jacket and not too bulky. Rain proof, warm fleece, and many pockets. Optics Planet offered the best deal for this jacket. Other places were $90+! I’m happy I found it here.

Summit jacket

by M4, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on February 8, 2017
Best jacket I've ever had for under $60!
The jacket comes equipped with many useful pockets, is water resistant, and surprisingly warm.
The jacket comes equipped with pit zips to help cool your core down, it also has a layer that prevents the wind from getting through yet somehow still manages to breath and still be water resistant.
Be advised, buy one size larger than you normally wear, they run small!
Hope this little mini review helps someone get off the fence on whether or not to buy one of these great jackets, FYI the normal price on these jacket shipped is about $90 bucks and I can state clearly that they are worth every penny of that. I was just very fortunate to catch these jackets on sale.

Condor Softshell Jacket

by Rip, from MD, United States Written on March 25, 2016
I love everything about this jacket...........except the main zipper. It seems to get hung-up when you connect the two ends. I've owned the jacket for about a month. It's drizzled while I wore it and the water repelled right off. I've worn it while riding my motorcycle in 63 degree weather and felt zero air-flow through it. I've been wearing it from temps ranging from 25 degree to even 71. It's very very comfortable and almost form fitting. (It stretches with you). I've had quite a few complements from my fellow team members tells ng me they've spent double the money on similar jackets (minus all the pockets and velcro). Again, the only problem (and I also heard this from a Youtube reviewer) is the main zipper snags on the initial hook-up. Otherwise, I would've given it five stars.
Pros:
  • Plenty of pockets
  • water resistant
  • Wind breaker
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • windy days
  • Mild weather
  • drizzley days
