For the MSR AR platform this can help catch some of the brass for short groups. The fabric doesn’t open very well so the rounds have a hard time making it in the bag. I’ll tip the firearm sideways after a group to make sure all the rounds fell down into the bag, and pickup what fell on the bench. The weight of the shells becomes too much pretty easily, so you’ll have to empty it regularly through each mag. The Velcro does it’s best adapting to different configurations, but I suspect there are better options. The brass would be all over the floor otherwise though, and this has been an inexpensive introduction to brass catchers
