More rangefinder than thermal imager - Covert Optics by Armasight ThermX TRF Thermal Rangefinder

It was marked 87% off, so what did I have to lose, right? As it turns out, even 97% off would not have made it a good deal. The image refresh rate is far too slow for scouting. The image freezes if you move faster than molasses runs down the outside of a jar. The thermal image is too weak to determine the type of animal over 30m. I tested it on two cats at 25m, and could see them clearer in the dark with the naked eye than with the thermal. I would not use this to target in the dark!
