Not what it should be - Crimson Trace Glock Gen3 Green Laser Grip

I bought this product from optics planet about 6 months ago. This review is in no way a bad review of optics planet who always deliver as promised. The laser arrived on time and did not work out of the box. The laser would come on then fade out with brand new batteries. I called crimson trace who mailed me a new one and the old one was sent back. The new one came in the mail a few days later and was installed. It worked well for approximately 6 months. Then at our departments semi annual firearms qual it stopped working. I assumed the batteries were dead so I removed the laser to change the batteries. Upon removing the batteries I noticed a metal connected had fallen from its base and the batteries would no longer make a positive connection rendering the laser useless. I again called crimson trace who instructed me to mail it to them, at my expense, for repair. I will mail it to them however after going thru two lasers in less than 7 months I no longer have faith that this laser is fit for duty use and also question crimson trace's quality control. I never write reviews however I felt this one was warranted. Hope others have better luck than me. The laser was on a glock 34 worn daily for duty use. I have a crimson trace laser grip on a kimber 1911 that's worked flawlessly for years leading me to believe that the quality control is not what it use to be
