Legacy Reviewer's Review of Crimson Trace LG-905 Master Series G-10 LaserGrip for Compact 1911 Handguns

Ordered from and delivered very timely from Optics Planet. These grips were purchased to fit on a Para CX745S which is a small 1911 style 45acp, 3.5" barrel and 7+1 capacity.

The grips that came on the Para were very nice and compfortable. The new CT grips installed are ever so slightly thicker and this in itself has improved the feel of the weapon. CT ships grips without grip screws and instructs you to use the stock screws that are in your weapon from the origional grips. The stock screws on my Para were very short and because of this I could not get all four to screw down for a proper fit. I see this as more of an issue from Para than I do CT. Owning a Colt Gold cup I checked to find the crews in the Colt were the exact same thread pattern and slightly longer than the stock screws from Para. In order to get the instalation done and to the range I used those screws. With Proper length screws, the install is less than 10 mins. A great feature with the CT grips is the ability to adjust for elevation and windage. Upon instalation completion I adusted the laser (at approx 20 ft.) to be seen sitting at the bulls eye looking down my iorn sights. This took less than 5 mins. Went to the range and after getting off a group of three I found placement (which of course would be from the gun) to be consistent. The placement however was just low and to the left. Adjusting after groups of three I was seroed in after only 9 more shots. This was all pretty darn easy I am happy to say. As to the feel and activation it is just great. As stated earlier, the grips feel better in my hand than the stock grips did so that was a plus. The front activation button is placed perfectly (for me) and does not activate from a simple hold on the pistol. This is good as you don't have the laser activated before you want it. However, with a compfortable and normal shooting grip, once griping firmly as to prepare for firing, the laser activates. In short is there when you want it and not there when you don't. I am pleased with the purchase and do recomend the product. A short follow up on the fit problem for my Para. I contacted Para via email and explained the problem I found installing the grips. Para responded by shipping me (free) longer screws that will work. Good for Para!
Pros: Easy install with activation coming from a very natural grip. Elevation and windage adjustable. Looks and feels great on the weapon
Cons: Para owners may expieriance an issue. Read review.
