Most Helpful Positive Review Great sight
I mounted this on my Canik TP9SFx using the ProPoint adapter plate. My intent is to use if for Carry Optics division in USPSA. I was concerned about the lack of brightness control (it is auto-sensing) but it is not an issue. In direct sunlight it is quickly visible, and in the shadows the brightness...

Most Helpful Negative Review Pop goes the lens
While target shooting at the indoor range I suddenly lost my red dot.At first I thought it was the battery gone bad,the I noticed the lens was gone. I started looking around my bench ,then a glint caught my eye half way down range. The range officer stopped range from shooting and retrieved the lens...

4/5 stars - Glock 43x MOS

by JB, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 23, 2024
The sides/edges of red dot extend very slightly past the width of the slide of my G43x MOS; but it doesn’t seem to interfere with the holster or snag anything… The box was sealed with a sticker when it arrived in the mail; and inside of the box along with the red dot and booklet were 3 hex keys in a small plastic bag… Two of the hex keys were tiny & identical and the third hex key was a half size bigger; however none of the hex keys seemed to fit into the red dot in order to adjust the elevation or windage I attempted using the smaller hex keys with no luck and I didn’t want to damage the the unit… I was literally minutes away from returning the red dot unit until I randomly found the correct hex key in a toolbox at home… Odd situation, but not a deal breaker for me… After making a few minor adjustments, everything seems to be fine.

Crimson Trace CTS-1550

by CTS, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 13, 2024
Fit to a S&W Shield Plus with no problems, it looks like the red dot S&W fit as an option to the pistol.Polymer body is solid and looks good and for the price is ok. At the range it was easy to zero and surprised me by how much accuracy was improved. For me the dot was the right brightness and easy to see. A lot of people dont like the polymer but will buy a pistol with a polymer body. If S&W fit this as an option, I would think it would be a reasonable balance between cost and quality.
Pros:
  • Price & quality
Cons:
  • Always on (unknown battery life?)

Great little red dot

by SlowPlugger, from PA, United States Written on February 17, 2024
Great little red dot. Installs directly onto my Kimber Mako R7, alignment posts in the slide fit the registration holes on the bottom of the red dot for a precise and repeatable fit. Nice because it's the exact width of the slide - so it doesn't hang over the side of the slide like other red dots. Red dot has a good size for me, good brightness in all light and easy to pick up. Slight field curvature at the edges if you specifically look for it, let's be honest, but this is not noticeable when aiming. Also, slight greenish tint if you look for it, but again let's be honest, this is not noticeable when aiming. The battery installs underneath, so in 2 years you'll be taking the sight off to change the battery - common CR2032 - and re-zeroing. This is acceptable for me because of the compactness of the sight that fits the Mako R7 so exactly. Use the supplied allen key wrench for zeroing adjustments. Once set, holds the zero precisely for years.
Pros:
  • compact
  • fits Mako R7 precisely
  • stable, holds zero
  • bright crisp red dot
Cons:
  • remove sight to replace battery
Best Used for:
  • EDC

Good for not real world shooting / maybe a hunting gun

by JR, from FL, United States Written on December 30, 2023
The auto adjust to ambient lighting, sucks?
If you are in a dark room looking into a lighted area, the red dot is almost invisiable.
when you reverse the action light room into dark the dot is bright?
If I have to have a light shining on the sight to see the dot?
I might as well have a blinking light on my head.
There is no stealth advantage having to to in the bright light to make my RDS work.
Be happy to sell it to anyone that likes an auto adjust RDS?
I may just move it to a hunting gun the light is about the sae as your target!
Pros:
  • Easy to install
Cons:
  • auto ligght Red dot adjustment
Best Used for:
  • maybe hunting

Build Quality Lacking

by Jorg, from CO, United States Written on July 20, 2023
After roughly 300 rounds on a .22 pistol, the red dot lost its zero. When trying to re-zero the dot, the windage and elevation adjustments were not working properly; adjustments did not move the dot far enough down or to the right. Upon closer inspection, I observed that the emitter came lose from its housing which is why the adjustments were not working. I contacted Crimson Trace and they stated that they would send me a replacement once the CTS-1550 was back in stock. Six months later at the time of this review and CT claims that the CTS-1550 is still not in stock.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Size
  • Weight
Cons:
  • customer service
  • Build Quality
  • Dot brightness
Best Used for:
  • Range
