Brandon Murata's Review of Cryptic .223/5.56/.300 AAC Blackout Left Hand Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) - Complete

You will NOT regret buying this left handed BCG. 5 years ago, I was skeptical about getting into the left side ejection AR game due to the limitations of parts availability for vital components such as the BCG and bolt. THANK GOD for Cryptic! Not only is it the best left handed BCG I've used, but it's also the best BCG I've used period! You won't ever have to worry about lube freezing up or getting thick due to extreme cold weather because you can shoot this dry with absolutely zero issues. I'd still personally recommend some light lubing like slip2000 or gun butter during mid to hot weather climates for longevity, but this BCG is so slippery smooth it's insane. For some reason, the Mystic Black coating is the best, but they're all amazing. Simply look on the website and it goes further into detail on this subject. This is why the Mystic Black is more expensive. This is literally the God's gift BCG for lefties shooting left side eject ARs.

Trust me, you won't regret it. Once you're back from the range, just take a paper towel and rub off all the carbon. It literally slips off like butter. You can actually just use your gloves to wipe it down, but use a Q-tip to clean the small crevices. The ONLY part you'd probably need cleaner or scraper is where all BCGs get the worst buildup of hard carbon; where the gas port shoots onto the opposite side of the bolt face where the firing pin is installed past the gas rings. Everything else slips off like it's nothing. I've shot over 15,000 rounds with this BCG and the only thing I had to replace was the gas rings as with any bolt, but even those held up a lot long than I thought they would. The QC and build quality is insane. Not a SINGLE malfunction besides using bad ammo in the first 1000 rounds I used this BCG. The other 14,000... Not a SINGLE malfunction.

11/10 BCG. They're now in all of my ARs and I have 14. They're expensive for a reason. Buy once cry once. Cleaning is a breeze with no worries of a malfunction due to the BCG.
