DesertDuck's Review of Daniel Defense A1.5 Top Mounted Fixed Iron Sight

As well reviewed as the sights are I feel mine were likely defective and not a typical example. The adjustment wheel on the rear sight was relatively loose, would wiggle around, and wasn't holding the threaded arm tightly resulting in excessive movement of the rear aperture.

Also wasn't happy that they didn't come with any instructions. Seems a minor thing, but when I am turning the rear wheel I would like to know what MOA increments I am dealing with. Sure, could just Google it, and it seems to be based on an A1 style M16 sight, but why assume when you can get it from the manufacturer? Could have been printed on the box, or on a simple leaflet inside the box for hardly any additional cost, but would mean a lot to the end-user.

Beyond that, the materials and manufacturing seemed solid enough, but aesthetically I wasn't that happy with them either since they don't sit flush to the ends of the rail, so I decided to go with some Skalarworks sights instead. Much more expensive, but the fit/finish is superior, the adjustments are tool-less, and they included instructions AND a formula for calculating adjustment based on your sight radius.

Overall for the money these are great fixed sights and one of only a few choices on the market, and the value is quite high. But if you want the best fixed sights on the market today these aren't them.
