Open end of spring jumped flange - DPM SIG SAUER P365/P365X & SAS Micro-Compact 3.1in Barrel Mechanical Recoil Reduction System

Went to the range for a second time using the DPM Recoil Reduction System for the P-365. The configuration is the default using the S2 spring running 115g Norma Range. With less than 50 rounds through this configuration, I experienced a jam. I cleared the jam and gave it another go... and another jam. Once more and you guessed it. After getting it home, I discovered that the open end of the spring jumped the flange. My first thought was "I installed it backwards", but no, it was installed in accordance with the instructions. Besides being a pain in the rear to remove the spring, how could I ever trust this gadget for a carry firearm? Very disappointed. As far as I can tell, the S2 spring is defective. The open end is too loose and will easily jump the flange again. I sure would like to get a replacement S2 spring and run hundreds of rounds through it to see if my perception could be changed.
