Most Helpful Positive Review Great pants but check sizing carrefully
A bit expensive even for the combat pants reference. Shipping was very fast. Just be aware of sizing. I am normally Med Reg (34R, mccuu / Drifire Combat pants etc...) but the sizing of those G3 is weird: In this case 34 is very big and I had to take Long instead of Reg cause Reg is shorter than usual.

You get what you pay for

by Mag, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on July 14, 2025
I was surprised to see the pants came in brand new in sealed packaging with tags as BDU/Drifire Crye are hard to find, much less brand new.

Great Product

by Drew, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on May 5, 2024
Seems like a great product. I have not had time to field test them long enough for durability, but I the workmanship seems solid. They fit great and I have no trouble moving in them. 4 Stars only because they're very expensive.

All I can say is WOW!

by Hank, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on May 4, 2024
The fabric seems to be a bit stiffer and hotter( I'm assuming due to FR properties) than the CRYE G3 combat pants as well as several hundred dollars more expensive. DRIFIRE does have USMC patterns, whereas CRYE doesn't. IF you don't need FR and the patterns don't matter, a G3 shirt and trouser cost about the same as just these pants. As a vet that can't "let it go" drove my decision to get these. Price kept them from getting 5 stars. These are CRYE G3 cut. Sizing is correct.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • Fit
  • Patterns
Cons:
  • Availability
  • Price $$$
Best Used for:
  • War

Great Pants in Gods Plaid

by Lewdremarks, from NC, United States Written on March 9, 2024
Optics Planet delivered my order in less then 48hrs after purchasing my items. Doesn’t get much faster than that, and the cost was in line to ordering direct from Drifire but without the 4pr minimum they require. The G3’s are still one of my favorite combat pants on the market, and the quality is always there….as the saying goes “pay once and Crye once”.

Its crye or die withe the benefit of FR

by Eliseo Pulido, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on December 8, 2023
Theres nothing much to say except you get what you pay for, a piece of crye goodness. It holds up incredibly well in field environments and can be rest assured they wont break easy and will assist in protection against fire. A few things for any potential buyer to know is that i personally have noticed that these fade much faster than traditional ripstop or 50/50 nyco blends of uniform camo so id highly advise taking very good care of it just refer to the cleaning instructions dri fire has on their website. Absolutely consider your detergents, i use atsko sport wash from now on but before i was using harmful detergent which has affected the performance in unintended heat retention during hot weather, use a detergent that is very mild or just buy atskso sport wash. Do not under any condition use fabric softener it will stick like a fuzz to your dri-cryes and will be impossible to get it out, requiring a replacement. This is my second pair and i still love em, now i knowhow to take better care of them.
Pros:
  • FR, moisture wicking, incredible stitching, great crye features
  • Crye combat cut which helps with maximum mobility
Cons:
  • Fades too fast if mishandled or out in the sun with darker colors, have to search on drifire site how to effectively clean and take care of your dri-cryes
  • Very expensive to replace
Best Used for:
  • Situations where heat is a issue and probability of fire is significant, using the camouflage for intended areas
  • Use corresponding camouflage in intended environments. ( desert marpat for desert/arid environments, woodland camouflage for more forested/ jungle environments

Good IR compliance

by Hunter, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on July 26, 2023
Awesome pants, but the price is a hard ask for what they are. Tons of adjustability, so if you get in the ballpark for your size, you can probably get them to fit well. The IR compliance is pretty good as well. The only thing that might be a problem is that the black splotches tend to be extremely dark under night vision, but that can help break up the pattern in some environments. My size happened to be in stock, so it shipped to me fairly quickly for Optics Planet standards.
Pros:
  • Comforatble
  • Adjustability
  • IR Compliant
Cons:
  • Expensive (but for good reason)
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Airsoft
  • War

Long waiting process.

by Ap41, from WA, United States Written on January 25, 2023
So just like any other crye and drtfire product. It works and and it is one of the best products regarding security work. However, with the size and camo I wanted, I waited 6 months for the appropriate size but to no avail. Seems like with whatever reason, the woodland camo is slow and almost non existent. So I settled for a larger size. The awesome thing about them is there ability to adjust the sizing on the waist and length on them. Looks baggy on my but I can still operate in it if need be. Sucls the manufacturing process is slow but thankfully I got mine to fit.
Pros:
  • Lightweight, modularity, durability, comfortable, reputable
Cons:
  • Slow manufacturing, limited availability, cost
Best Used for:
  • Security and tactical applications

The best combat/outdoor pants on the market, in FR!

by Kevin, Verified Owner from AB, Canada Written on April 28, 2018
Crye Precision changed how the combat uniform is viewed when they released their original combat uniform. Having made several improvements and iterations on the design since then, the G3 style of combat uniform is one of the best I've had the opportunity of using. This is a truly no-compromise combat pant design, offering excellent optional joint protection, plenty of conveniently accessible pockets, very comfortable cut, and a perfectly adjustable and PADDED waistband.

These pants feature stretch panel material around the knee pad pocket, in the crotch, and just below the rear of the waist. These panels flex as you move, and prevent the pants from tearing due to being stretched beyond their limits.

The integrated knee pad pocket accepts Crye Airflex knee pads, both the Field or Combat variety. These are the real standout features of the Crye Combat pants. Integrated knee pads never slip or fall out of alignment with your knees. They're always in place and always ready for you to take a quick knee or drop into the prone position.

The precision cut material and extremely well thought out stitching pattern means that these combat pants are very durable. Ripstop materials will stop any punctures or tears from spreading very far until they can be stitched up, and reinforced stitching in high stress areas should prevent any premature material separation.

When combined with Drifire FR materials, these pants offer an excellent solution to any armed professional that would need s...
