Jake's Review of Eberlestock G4 Operator Backpack

I can honestly say that this pack is the best tactical gear bag I have every owned. Its size and versatility make it an incredible companion on long hikes, tactical operations, or just throwing a bunch of stuff in for a weekend trip. The gun scabbard included is an incredible plus. I can fit a 7" barrel weapon system in it without ever having to extend the boot and with little coverage from the cover. It comes with its own rainfly in the event that you get caught in a shower and has plenty of PALS/MOLLE webbing on the bag for user customization. The pack rides well with good support. It was incredibly comfortable to wear as long as the load is situated correctly. I overloaded it the first time that I took it out leading to me walking hunched over because the load pulled me backwards. The main downside could also be a pro. The backpack has a system that allows for user setup so that it matches your body type as closely as possible. This can be great or a pain. If you watch the Youtube video where they describe how to customize, it makes it a little easier but you really just need to fiddle with it to get it just right and that takes time. The other con is the price. Let's be honest $400 is a lot to drop on a pack even for serious hikers or military/LE personel. That being said, you are definitely getting your money's worth out of it. By far, the Operator pack has plenty of incredible features to warrant the price. For more information on the details of all their packs, I would suggest taking a trip to Eberlestock's website and carefully considering what your needs are and I'm sure that they will have a pack for you.
Pros: versatility and storage space
Cons: setup and price
