Long Range Ping's Review of Eberlestock Sniper Sled Drag Bag Gun Case

This one is hard to put a rating on because there are good pros and not so good cons so one really needs to think long and about how they are going to use it. First the pros:
The Bag is high quality material and put together very well. Lots of molly loops and good handles. Zips up tightly so loose items wont fall out or stuff get in. Mounts like a backpack. Very adjustable and rides well when carrying it on the back. The camo matches my other multi-cam products perfectly. It has lots of storage capability in the attached bags which are removable and it has extra storage pockets on the interior which proved handy for notebooks. The interior straps secures the rifles very well. If you tie this thing to your waist and tow it behind you on the ground, the rifle will be protected so as a drag bag it gets an A. Now for the cons:

When those bags are attached, it cannot lay flay, (obviously) so one finds themselves laying in weird positions. As a shooting mat, it gets a D. A person may find themselves sheading the external storage bags for this reason alone. Also, one may find themselves forgetting to zip them all closed when jumping up to relocate so the system is not conducive to quick deploy and redeploy. If you have an AR platform, this bag is just way too long and you will not like it. However, it holds a decked out bolt gun nicely. The bag by itself, empty, is just too heavy for my taste. If your humping around a 30+ lb 50BMG, this bag will certainly do the task and to be fair, it is advertised as being made for the 50. Otherwise, unless you are in great physical shape, you might want to try before buy. A friend of mine bought the Gunslinger and we were both surprised at the weight difference, the slinger being much lighter.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Weight; it get's heavy...
Would Recommend: No
