Sloppy Snood's Review of Elftmann Tactical ELF SE Precision Rifle Trigger

*****THIS TRIGGER WAS SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED ON A SAVAGE 220 TIRKEY BOLT ACTION SHOTGUN.*****REASONS: Purchased this trigger for two specific reasons: 1. Absolutely do not like the feel of the release lever in the stock AccuTrigger. 2. Lighter trigger pull in the 1.25-2 lbs range with no take up. In these regards, the Elftmann Tactical SE Precision Rifle trigger corrected these particular dislikes of mine. Installed in the factory Savage AccuStock with no need to remove any plastic stock material for good fit and free range of motion of the trigger arm. NOTE: Please note that the “fat” (wide) trigger shoe does NOT fit through the trigger guard and needs to be installed after the trigger/receiver/barrel assembly are reinstalled into the AccuStock. Simple process. PERFORMANCE: The combination of the FLAT Elf trigger shoe and a 2-lbs trigger pull proved to be fantastic from 20 different shots of hand loaded 3-inch 20GA TSS size 9 shot. Good clean trigger with just a VERY slight hint of “pre-movement” as the factory sear climbs the Elftmann notch on the trigger arm. Inspection during repeated trigger pulls reveals that the “step” on the sear notch of the Elftmann trigger arm is slightly taller than that on the factory Savage AccuTrigger’s arm. The effect to the shooter IS felt as pre-movement prior to the sear completing its travel and the firearm discharging (very, very slight but present nonetheless). SAFETY: at the lowest setting, I was unable to slam fire OR drop the stock and induce an unintentional discharge. All said, I feel this is the best option for replacing the Savage AccuTrigger on a Savage 220 Turkey model smoothbore shotgun.
Pros:
  • Eliminates AccuTriggers AccuRelease Lever
  • Full 1.25 to 4+ lbs Trigger Pull Range
  • True Drop In Fit (on 220 Shotgun AccuStock)
  • Passes Unintentional Discharge Tests
  • Rifle-like Trigger Feel for Savage 220 SHOTGUNs
Cons:
  • VERY Slight Trigger Movement of Sear on Trigger Arm Sear Notch
Best Used for:
  • Excellent trigger upgrade for the 20GA Savage Arms 220 Turkey Shotgun
