Andrew Morgan's Review of EOTech ATPIAL-C Laser Aiming System w/IR Illuminator
This is by far my favorite laser out there. Yes, there are some out there with a stronger IR flood, but they have their downsides too. Let me put it this was I currently own 1 BE Meyers MAWL, 1 DBAL, and 3 ATPIAL-C’s... I will always pick the ATPIAL, regardless of cost. If my life depended on it (and it has), this is the one I would get. My background: Former Infantry Marine and current night vision instructor (LE and Civilian).
Pros:
- Lightweight
- rugged
- reliable
- simplicity
- Track record (same body as peq-15)
- easy tactile buttons that can be felt in the dark
- easy to change battery in the dark
Cons:
- Wish the IR Flood could be brighter (like the MAWL) but not exactly a deal breaker
- Wish the mount was a QD lever that locked instead of a screw (not a deal breaker either)
Best Used for:
- Most NV purposes
