Ok, so I know a thing or two about Eotechs. We have been using them on our M4's for a few years now. When it was time for a red dot sight for my personal rifle I went with what I know and purchased an Eotech. Out of the box visual inspection was disappointing. Uneven sealant on the glass and the up and down buttons were not level causing the up button to stick to the hood when depressed. Very upset I returned it to Optics Planet for a replacement. A few weeks later I received the replacement. Again the buttons were not level however this time the buttons worked fine and did not stick. I also noticed that there was what looked like corrosion between the hood and the sight. Turned it on and nothing! Tried a new battery and nothing! Took the battery out for a few minutes so the device can reset and nothing. After several reset attempts it finally turned on however it would not turn off. I again reset the device and it actually worked well for a few days. Then I turned it on one day and it would not shut off again. I did the reset again and again then I gave up. This thing is absolutely useless. I will not trust my life with an Eotech. I will not even use the Eotech that is on my duty rifle anymore. It is either iron sights or grab the shotgun from now on. You can have your $525 paper weight back Eotech!
Pros: Mounts solid
Cons: Poor qaulity
