RustyOptics's Review of EOTech HHS-I Holographic Hybrid Red Dot Sight w/G33 STS Magnifier
I purchased the EOTech EXPS3-4 red dot sight and 3x magnifier for a rifle. Both mount securely to the top of the rifle and can be removed / reinstalled using quick disconnect. The mounts both seem to retain accuracy when removed / re-installed.
The illumination settings on the red-dot have a good range of brightness suitable for use on an indoor range to bright outside conditions. The three elevation dots in the sight are not particularly helpful without the magnifier because they are difficult to distinguish. The magnifier makes the elevation dots useful, although I found the center dot to provide good accuracy out to 400 yards (360m). A nice feature of the red dot is that it is possible to co-locate the image using the iron sites that are also on the rifle. Though it would be unlikely under typical use, if the red dot sight battery stops working, the iron sites can be used without removing the red dot sight itself.
The elevation / windage adjustments on the red dot can be changed using a coin (a dime or penny works well). The red dot on/off switch and brightness settings also generally work well. I did find that some care is required to turn the red dot "off" because the button is recessed.
The magnifier works very well. There are some adjustments on the magnifier, but I have not found them to be of particular use. The feature allowing the magnifier to swing out of position with the red dot works very well so it may be used at close range (<50 yards) and long range (>100 yards).
The package was received in good ("new") condition, and contained foam packing, manual, red dot sight, 3x magnifier, and manuals.
