Turrets are cheap feeling and not labeled with numbers... why? - EOTech Vudu 4-12x36mm 30mm Tube Rifle Scope, First Focal Plane

Completely ruining this scope for me is the fact that the turrets are not labeled with numbers, except for 0. So as a result, they are only useful for zeroing the rifle. When you do set the zero and lift the turret to do so, they wobble and feel like they're going to break off. They feel, in general, from a click and just tactile perspective, like they belong on a cheap hunting scope. This was entirely unexpected for a product released in 2026, for a product that does not have a BDC reticle (where turrets are unlikely to be used at all), and for an EOTECH scope that costs as much as this does. How hard would it have been to at least print the numbers for each MIL advancement? At least then someone who needed to work the turrets for a long range run & gun/hike & shoot type event like me could at least use them on the stages it would be advantageous. Why is it that significantly less expensive scopes come with capped AND labeled turrets (i.e., Vortex, ZeroTech, etc.)? I do not understand what EOTECH was thinking here.

The illumination is not the daylight bright-level you get on the Vortex/Primary Arms scops, but it's good enough to see during the day (at least on my MR5 reticle). Thank goodness adjusting the power/zoom does not spin the entire occular housing -- that is, to me, incredibly annoying on the VUDU 1-10 and above. The MR5 reticle is fine... there are far better "center dot with a circle around it" reticles out there but it's fine - don't hate it, don't love it. I got the MR5 because I don't want the entire crosshair to illuminate.

There is also a weld line between the ocular and the elevation turret, which EOTECH hides well in their product photos and seems to have photoshopped because in-person it's pretty ugly and obvious, bringing a feeling of cheapness to a very expensive scope. I'm sure it was a necessary thing to manage cost, but it could have been smoothed better (at least on mine). In the end, the fact these turrets are suitable only for zeroing a scope ruins this optic for me... it would have made a wonderful run/gun/hike/shoot type scope where on some stages, dialing is advantageous. Now it is only really suitable for holdovers, which you can do in the reticle but it's very small at all zooms so I'll end up slowing down trying to find the right MIL stadia in situations where I could have just used the turret before the stage started or right after ranging.

Swing and a miss on this one. Yeah, it's small... unless you're going to be running clip ons or something else in front of this scope... so what, then?
