Mason's Review of Evolution Gun Works Hunter Series Remington 700/721/725, Sauer 100/101, Bergara B14 Long Action Picatinny Rail

Bought this rail specifically due to being the right fit for my Sauer 100 rifle that is long action and uses Remington 7OO receiver. The fit was correct however getting the front screws all the way threaded and tight was a very annoying task. I had my own T10 screwdriver, so I had the right tool. The screws wouldn’t seat properly so they would screw in only maybe 90% of the way causes the rail to actually move if I touched it. After many attempts and pressing down as hard as humanly possible, the screws finally completed the rest of the way and was locked down tight as they should. I used the blue locktite as well as that is stated in the instructions and is known for best practices anyways. Overall, the rail is indeed the correct rail and is made of nice materials. I recommend it for the Sauer 100. You may just have to really work at getting a couple screws to finish threading for the last 10% or so. The rail is firmly fastened and looks good. Also, the rail doesn’t have any extra metal sticking out towards the barrel which is nice, so if you have a larger mm scope, you won’t have to worry about it scraping/touching the end of rail.
Pros:
  • great quality
  • snug attachment
  • Just the right size and not too long
Cons:
  • Had to really press down to get the screws to fasten the last 10% after several attempts
