Expert Review

Excellent performance.

by Ethan C., Gear Expert from IL, United States Written on March 26, 2018

I used this bolt carrier group in a 9.5" barrel AR pistol build with a Faxon 9mm SAAMI barrel, it ran flawlessly and cycled quickly and smoothly. This was Colt-SMG 9mm build rather than a Glock magazine build, however this will work for Glock magazine 9mm builds as well. I used a 9mm carbine buffer with a JP Enterprises .308 buffer spring, recoil was negligible allowing for extremely rapid repeated shots, all placed within an inch at 75 feet (the max distance possible at the range I was at) using flip up iron sights. I'm a left-hand shooter and even without a 9mm ejection port dust cover, casings did not hit me, they were ejected straight to the side. Very happy with this bolt carrier group.

Most Helpful Positive Review Very nice!

Faxon always makes quality products. I've began using all of their BCG's and barrels. I highly recommend any of their products. Shipping on this BCG was fast as they did have it in stock. Review must be 200 characters.......seriously.

Most Helpful Negative Review Incomplete assembly

It appears the roll pin at the rear of the bolt carrier was not installed . I would expect this from a Harley Davidson factory but not from faxon . Maybe it fell out in the mail packaging was very poorly done .

9mm bolt carrier Multi use.

by Ed M, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on September 8, 2026

So after a long search I wanted a spare bolt for my New Frontier 9mm PCC that uses MP5 mags. Since New Frontier basically no longer exists and spare parts aren’t available I opted for this. I took a shot and ordered one. I was very surprised it worked out perfectly. It feeds and functions fine and appears to use standard AR replacements parts. I’m very happy to have it and it seems well made. Optics planet had the best price and shipped free. Thanks OP.

The final part needed

by WayneTX, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on July 14, 2026

I had been struggling to get an FRT to work in my Springfield Armory Saint Victor 9mm, 5 1/2” AR. I tried a variety of springs and buffers and even went with a longer buffer tube. All the pieces were in place, but it still wouldn’t function. Then I stumbled across some additional information that led me to believe the problem was the old carrier group. This was the fix. Once I put this BCG in the FRT runs like a top. The gun is now as much fun as I hoped it would be.
