these were designed specifically for handguns for form and function. most loads for defense are buck which give you three or four projectiles which hit in the same area with no spread. This is the largest shot size i can find that isnt buck, so you get about 60 pellets and get a nice shotgun size spread. As always federal ammo is top quality so you cant go wrong. took off one star because when weighting the projectiles these are about 40 percent lighter in load then the pdx loads.
