Worth every penny - Fenix FX-HM65R CREE LED Headlamp

Upon looking for a new strap for my Fenix HL60R I discovered their new headlamp; The HM65R. I’ve had the 60R for around 3 years now and I used for work 4 nights a week. Rain or clear skies. Depending on the job, I’d use it anywhere from 2-8hrs switching out batteries every 3-4 hours or so. It got HEAVY use. It still works fine despite the head strap getting a little blown out. After replacing that, I still have it as a spare or loaner.

This new light, the 65R, is every bit an improvement over the 60R(and as you see I have nothing negative to say about that one). It’s brighter. Lighter. The magnesium body feels amazing. The ability to independently adjust the flood and spot lights comes in handy more often than I thought it would. The head straps are updated too and seem to hold up better to stretching and also hold on to your head better. While I’ve only had it a few months, I can tell that it will meet my expectations.
