Stewart's Review of Fime Group Fime Fire Control Group Ak/rpk Based Rifles Enhanced
I installed this in a Molot Vepr AK-74 pattern rifle.
PROS:
- Required no fitting.
- Works great with the stock safety lever.
- The included sleeve for the trigger pin made the installation a breeze.
- Breaks around 3 to 4 pounds on my trigger pull scale.
- Breaks less like a "candy cane" and more like a "carrot", but IMO still feels pretty good.
- Experienced no trigger slap after 120 rounds of testing.
- Definitely an upgrade over the stock FIME Group trigger and the Tapco G2.
CONS:
- Kind of expensive for what it is. The ALG Defense AKT is priced about the same and IMO is the better option. I have that trigger in an Arsenal SAM7SF and love it. Unfortunately it gives me HORRENDOUS trigger slap in the Vepr 74 and is nigh unusable. IMO the ALG Defense AKT is worth trying first.
- It's a 2-stage trigger. All the triggers in all my other AK rifles and shotguns are single-stage, so I'm just not used to a 2-stage trigger in an AK. It's not necessarily bad, it's just different, and it'll take me some time to warm up to it.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
- Overall I'm pretty happy. It's a little expensive for what it is but it's still a pretty good trigger.
