Dave's Review of Firefield Agility 1x30 Dot Sight

For $50, I had much higher expectations of this products functionality. From the outside, the scope looks well made, is detailed, and has a nice finish. It also came with lens covers, which are a nice touch. Upon installing the sight on to my rifle and sighting it in, I immediately noticed a few things wrong. Even with the illumination off, you can very clearly see a strong square reflection of the Dot's projector if you let any light into the rear. When turning it on, it gets worse. Not only is there a reflection of the projector/housing, but now there is a green/red glare that sort of flares into the entire lens, washing over the picture, and is noticeable even in normal light, but not as much. Lastly, right before you turn the knob to cycle reticles, the verticle zeroing moves up or down roughly 2mm depending on which way the knob is turned, rendering any elevation accuracy unattainable without resighting every time you change the reticle, unless you don't. Overall, exterior build quality is good, and looks good, but It's functional abilities are not. Kind of like a late 1980's Jaguar. For use on an Airsoft gun, this would work fine, but anything beyond that, forget it.
Pros:
  • QUALITY appearance
  • Reticle Selection
Cons:
  • Strong glare from projector
  • Upon selecting reticle, verticle zeroing is lost.
  • Lowest level of illumination is too bright for night use.
Best Used for:
  • Backyard Airsoft Games
Would Recommend: No
