Ben DeVore's Review of Firefield Tactical 8-32x50AO IR Rifle Scope
I mounted this on my Ruger precision rimfire. The scope seems rather delicate and I don't think I'd mount it on anything bigger than a .223. At 200 yards, full zoom I could see flies walking on my target. You can see .22 bullet holes at same distance. Adjustment absolutely sucks. The hold offs are in mils the adjustments in MOA, is a SFP scope, but no information on what power the mils read accurately. The knobs don't repeat. First time I used it 44 clicks got me zeroed at 200...2nd time it was 54 clicks..3rd time it was 63... if you don't plan to range with it, or shoot different distances, it's a decent scope for the price. However, it's useless on a Ruger precision rimfire because my rifle has a built in 30moa rail and at 100 yards I'm shooting 4 inches high with my elevation fully depressed.
Pros:
- Magnification
Cons:
- No repeatability
Best Used for:
- Known Distance shooting
