Beware of bad manufacturing and quality control! - FM Products Mike-15 .223 Wylde Gen 2 Build Kit

Thought this would be something unique for the range. I WAS WRONG. When I first took the upper out of the packaging a few aluminum shavings fell out. One being about as big as a cat's claw. I didn't think too much of it because the upper looked solid. I read the instructions that said to clean the upper first because the oil used for only shipping. I'm glad I did. The changing handle, even though it is repositionable, would not budge. (Side note there are 2 set screws in the "trolley" instead of the 1 that is said in the FM Products videos) I tried tapping it with a punch and hammer, but it was going to stay in place no matter what. I thought, "Okay. Give it some time and maybe it will loosen up." Moving on to cleaning the rest and after taking the BCG out to clean and lube, I noticed small filings/burs in the carrier when the bolt moves forward and back. Looking down the barrel, I found more metal fillings. At this point, I put it all back together and started the return process with OP. I really wanted to like this, but with the amount of shavings, I wasn't about to take a gamble on where else they might have been. So after this, I am just going to buy all the parts and build my own upper as I have done before. Sorry FM, but you need to do better QCing. Not everyone is a gunsmith or as OCD as I am with my firearms.
