Matt S.'s Review of Fobus Digital Path Paddle Holster

Picked up one of these holsters to help new shooters I work with. More and more of them are getting into shooting sports where you draw from a holster or are getting conceal carry licenses so practice counts now more than ever.

What I like about additional retention holsters is that it forces new shooters to slow down and focus on what they are doing as well as hand placement.

What I like about the Digital Path holster is that it reinforces where the trigger finger should be during the grip and draw until one is ready to shoot.

The price of these is great as it allows me to keep a few around without breaking the bank. They are also comfortable enough to wear for a couple hour course or even a couple hour match/event.

This holster is also cut low enough on the top to accommodate carry optics which is great as those are becoming increasingly popular.

Open muzzle design allows for longer models like G34 or threaded barrels. Also very useful.

Retention is solid, I tried my hardest to remove the pistol from the holster improperly and it didnt come out. Neither did the paddle disengage from my belt. The pistol stayed in the holster and the holster stayed on my belt.

My only critique is the same one most people have about fobus, the material seems to have a lot of flex. While that has never been a problem for me, it is different than most of my other holsters.

Also, one or two people with smaller hands or shorter fingers than myself struggled a bit at first with the mechanics of this holster.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • Affordable
  • Versatile
  • Proper Finger Placement
Cons:
  • Material Flex
Best Used for:
  • practice
  • Training
  • Drills
