If you are looking for an off-duty concealment tactical holster, the Fobus tactical holster is a good choice. Here's the deal: The Fobus tactical holster continues the tradition of Fobus high quality found in all Fobus products. I recently purchased the GLT-17 for my Glock 22 with M-3 tac. light. The holster comfortably accommodates my gun and is easy to draw and re-secure. Weapon retention is fairly minimal as with all fobus holsters but considering it is a concealment paddle holster, the retention level is acceptable----although more retention would be better. The holster looks good, is well constructed, and Optics Planet had the best price----as much as $20.00 less than other stores.
Heres' the downside: The holster allows the tactical light lens to turn while wearing the holstered gun-----which allows the light to turn out of focus. I always keep my lens on a tight focus but after drawing my gun after being holsterd for an hour or two, the focus is turned to a completely wide setting. The other drawback about this holster is that it is a horizontal draw (does not draw straight up like a typical duty holster). Although the horizontal drawing of your gun works well for this holster (smooth and easy to use) it is a departure from the muscle-memory top-draw style found in most duty holsters and therefore may require the user to pause (if even for a split second) and think about which way to draw the gun. In a critical stress situation, one's off-duty holster should be as similar as possible to the draw of the duty holster in order to prevent that pause or hesitation that can occurr in a gun fight. I certainly prefer the draw of my other Fobus regular (non-tactical) holster which has the straight-and-rock-back draw, but since I now use a tac-light on my gun, I'll have to use the GLT-17 if I want to use a Fobus.
Personlly, I really don't have a problem with the draw difference between my off-duty / duty holsters and all things considered this holster is definitely worth buying.
Pros: Best price at Optics Planet / Over good holster.
Cons: Horizontal draw / Tactical light lens moves while gun is holstered.
