I bought this to replace a cheaper one that I own. The beauty of the G-Sight is, the laser is turned on when the bolt is closed and turns off when you open the action to remove the G-Sight. I set up the sight in target in my back yard and zeroed in the scope on my 700 SPS, went to the range, it was dead on at 100 yards.
On my cheaper laser cartridge you must unscrew the base or remove the batteries to turn it off, The process must be reversed to turn it on.
The G-Sight works so well, I purchased an additional one in 12GA.
