When used with an AR-15 in .450 Bushmaster caliber, the bolt does not close all the way, so the laser does not activate. The laser itself is just a bit longer than a standard .450 cartridge, so the bolt does not close all the way.
Was able to activate with holding the laser button with my right hand thumb, but not all that convenient.

I was told it would work for 450 Bushmaster. Obviously not the case. The switch for turning it on is messed up. I’ve bought other cartridge bore site tools. Turn them on and insert them, no big deal. This bore site requires the closed action of the weapon to activate the tool. Wouldn’t recommend this tool.

I would like to be writing a positive feed back however after buying 11 of the different calibers and spending hundreds of dollars on these sights, I would not recommend then the main issues consistently with all them is the light fades with in less than two minutes from the time you insert into the chamber. This may be to over heating but seems to be an across the board issue. Optics Planet has been great with delivery and standing behind these cheap bore sights. They even replaced a few for me and I had the same problem, so now the only thing these get used for are paper weights, don't waste your money on these.
Cons:
- They do not live up to expectations and they areover priced for poor quality.

It works to get you on the paper and ready for fine-tuning your sights. My one complaint is that it arrived with dead batteries. (Along with couple of others that I bought at the same time, hence 3 stars.)

You need to let the action close into battery to seat the laser and turn it on. On my older S&W 59 it would drop into the chamber, but on my newer Sig 229 and 938 and Kimber Solo it did not drop into the barrel until the action closed. No problem to remove it, just rack the slide and it falls out.

Perfect fit and operation, especially like that it activates only when chambered. Battery life seems extended with this operation. Batteries fit well in cartridge of bore sight. Machine threading smooth and well done.
Pros:
- witch controls battery life
- on only when chambered prolongs battery life

I tried this bore sight with disastrous results. I followed the manufacturers instruction. When I went to eject the device it was jammed in the gun, a DPMS LR 308. I had to work like heck to get the bolt to come out and the tip of the device was damaged in the process. Turns out to be a waste of money.
Cons:
- Design apparently not to spec for 308

Great laser sight, the only problem I am having is with the batteries. Started sighting in and after about less than ten minutes the batteries ran out. I haven't had time to take new 308 to the range yet, I was hoping to have it mostly sighted in before taking it to the range, so i could save on anmo. By the way I'm having trouble finding batteries anywhere around town. I guess I will have to order more online, and looks like they are about $6.00 a piece. This laser sight takes 3 batteries.

I zeroed my red dot sight with a G sight laser bore sight and definitely save me a lot of ammos and time. I was just short of half a turn at 15 yards and hit my target after 2 shots. It's not overall 100% perfect but with half a turn on my sight, I'd say it's almost perfect!
