Save your money pass this

Written on Apr 18, 2026

I bought one of these with high expectations and after receiving it a seeing how it worked I would not recommend it to anyone. The two vertical support cylinders are floppy even after clamping to the rifle/shotgun. If asked I would recommend to other people to pass on this stand, it is JUNK and not worth your money.

Not the best fit leaves unsightly gap on the under side.

This rear trunnion fits the stamped housing but needed quite a bit of grinding on a bench grinder even so it did not go back far enough into the housing to seal the perimeter. The underside had a 1/8" gap from the back of the Trunnion to the rear of the bottom of the stamped housing. I was thinking of sealing with black caulk but I ordered a different trunnion and hopefully in will fit better and go far enough into the receiver so there are no gaps on the underside.

This Trunnion is good and solid but does not compliment the receiver.

Odin Works Gas Block, which fits the .936 Low Profile

The .936 adjustable Gas Block will not fit under the Atlas R-One Handguard. Do not buy this if you are using a smaller diameter Handguard.

Mini 14/30 Flash Hider

Written on Jul 30, 2023

Bought one of these Stainless Steel Flash Hiders for the Mini 30, I noticed the pilot starter holes for the roll pins on the Flash Hider why they are not drilled through to the other side is perplexing. That was my biggest beef with this Flash Hider. If you are going to make a starter pilot hole finish the thing all the way through. How Cheap is Choate, they charge enough and can't finish the two holes? By doing that self installation would be alot easier. One other suggestion would be to use titanium drill bits and have a few extra on hand and cutting oil.

Over all this is a well made but needs improvement. I would not recommend this item, it needs more tweaking back at the company.

Strobe function

Written on Jul 11, 2020

Streamlight is a name that commands respect, in saying this though I have had problems with the Strobe feature and turnng this feature on, given it is turned off when you buy it. I have purchased 5 of these TLR 8AG Flew and non withh turn on as per the directions. Support service at Streamlight was courtious but unfortunatly once I got one of the 5 back that I sent in it still was unable to turn the strobe feature on.

Just wondering any other people have run into this and if you have how you have worked it out?

Belt Cluip Holster

Written on Dec 24, 2018

The Techna Clip is a good concept and it works, the LC9S which I purchased recently is good concept but I found once you slip the threaded post back handle and align the belt clip with the screw in the threaded post, it is nearly impossible to tighten the screw in the post given the post continues to rotate while you try to tighten all the parts. So the weak point is the mechanism for the clip. Given this I would not recommend this belt clip.

3rd Purchase

Written on Apr 07, 2018

This is the third purchase I have made of this Laser/light ...... these 810G's are the cats meow for those of use with the older Gen 1-2 Glocks. I put this on a Glock G30 Gen 1-2 it fit perfectly even though it is not specified that it will work with these older Glocks. They are expensive yet worth every dollar and give there are few options for us who own Glock Gen 1 or 2 this is a perfect solution which gives these older guns new life.

Good Snug Fit

Written on Mar 24, 2018

I just purchased a second one of these LL-810G's for my Glock Gen 1-2 G27 40 caliber and its fits the trigger guard perfectly, I am very happy with the 810G... it is costly but well worth it. If you have a Glock Gen 1 or 2 this is the way to go. Crimson Trace is a reputable company and they make a high quality product. Optics Planet for me is a good place to purchase, they have great service and are very easy folks to work with when a product does not live up to expectations. They got this out to me in less than a week. Over all here very satisfied with their service and Crimson Trace products.

Glock Gen 1-2 Owners you are in LUCK

Written on Mar 16, 2018

I just purchased one of these 810-G's from Optics Planet, it is the first time I have found a laser for my trusty old Glock gen 1-2 G29. It fits like a glove on the trigger guard and the green laser was dead on with the night sights. The price is steep but given there are not real alternatives this is the best. It lives up to the Crimson Trace name. I was so impressed I ordered another of these 810-G's for the Glock gen 1-2 G27 ......

I hope Crimson Trace will make a this same item for the Glock gen 1-2, G20 & 21 my Glocks may be old but they sure are accurate......

Accuracey on target

Written on Feb 13, 2018

I bought one of these for my M&P 45 Shield I was so impressed with it after putting 300 rounds thru the gun using the green laser I bought two more for the M&P 9MM & 40 Cal Shield. All three hold zero real well, after the 200 rounds thru the 45 and still holding zero, I was sold.

The programmable features are a great design easy to use and let you shut it down fully. The Grip sense is a good feature, better than some of the other names out there which are more expensive. The green laser has good distance and is visible during day. For those of you who don't want to pay the extra cost for the green verses the red, I would suggest you wait and get the green, you will be much happier with it verses red. One other nice feature is the external battery access, makes it very easy for changing the batteries instead of having to take the laser grip off the gun.

This is the best laser/light combo out there and the price at $158.00 is a very good value compared to $400.00 Plus for other name brands out there. My only thing I am not fond of is the light color, it would be better if it was a white light. But it is still very usable. I highly recommend this laser/light grip.

I am hoping Lasermax comes out with a similar design for the Sig 238 & 928 as well, I will being buying both when they hit the market.
