The Shootist's Review of Galco Miami Classic II Shoulder Systems

I own many Galco products and find them to be about as good as it gets. Always high quality, fit and finish and the quality of the leather is top notch. This was my first "serious" purchase of a shoulder holster system. It is not for everyday any climate/condition wear or use. Proper outer wear is needed to "cover" your gear and this is not always possible depending on the climate or type of clothing needed, normally, for the occasion. The system does take time to get it just right for feel, comfort and useage. Some say adjust it so the holster and mag pouch are high up under the armpit....others say wear it where it is comfortable and useable....and also where it is best hidden under a topical outerwear garment. Bottom line...DO NOT CUT the excess straps for a long time if ever. REASON: You MUST take the time to adjust and readjust the fit until you are certain it is in the best place possible for your body type, etc. I suggest to NOT install the screws until you are all done. Because you will be sliding the straps for different "fine tuning" adjustments for some time while getting the positioning just right. BE PATIENT....IF you want this system to be "just right" for you.

Great product...but, you MUST take the time to wear it....adjust it....maybe readjust many, many times until it's feeling just right for you. The height of the holster and mag pouch as well as the "angle" must all be considered...and trust me...it's not done with just 1, 2 or 3 adjustments. Many will be needed...unless of course you get lucky your first adjustment. But, I doubt that.

Hold downs for the holster and mag pouch would be good to keep them from swinging...but, I suggest to Galco to provice a "stretchy type" material to allow some "give" rather than a "hard attchement" to your belt.
