I would recommend this for any type of hunting and or field trialing for keeping track of your dogs. This is an approved collar for AKC and American Field events. You can also use this as a dual purpose i.e. a GPS, and mark your favorite spots, track logs, etc.
Pros: easy setup, effective range, travels well in brush
Cons: lose signal when in bottom of canyon, or with heavy canopy of trees
