This is my first detector and at this point I have invested well over 100 hours within the last 6 weeks. And what I have come to the conclusion of is I wish I would have purchased something else. Most of my finds have been JUNK that reads as a solid coin identification. I have learned to use the pin pointing to help identify the shape of the item however this too is not always accurate. There have been quite a few items that I went ahead and decided to dig though the detector toned in and displayed ( erratic ) as if it were junk when it actually turned out to be coinage. Matter of fact, the only silver coin I've found ( 1942 d quarter ) was coming as junk, there was times though as I swung over it that it would occasionally hit solid as a coin then go back to erratic. Overall, I will give it the credit that I feel it deserves. It has helped me to develop some skills and better my understanding of what to try to look out for. However if I could go back I would have picked out something a little more "high end". Don't get me wrong, I have found about $8 in clad coins ( 30% of that is pennies) 3 wheat, one 30/30 live bullet, one pocket knife (made in china), and a couple handfuls of random stuff....nothing to really talk about though. Anyway, I hope that this has been helpful.
Pros: finds shallow targets well
Cons: does not identify targets accurately / can become irratic or completely miss silver depending on how its laying in the ground
