Wick's Review of Geissele Hk Mr 5.56 Trigger
Good trigger, on par with their SSA or G2S model. Breaks at roughly 4lb 13oz. Smooth takeup , breaks pretty clean with very minimal creep. Hopefully that works it’s way out after a bunch of rounds. My other Geissele triggers have virtually no creep granted they are the E models .. I do have a little buyers remorse at the moment, it replaced a Wilson Combat TTU-M2 and the WC has a way Cleaner break and feel + been 100% reliable. I do miss the 4lb break of it as well but that’s not a deal breaker. Basically If you’re not a Geissele fan boy, absolutely get a Wilson Combat or similar , the Geissele is not better than that by any stretch is the imagination. It’s arguably inferior as a matter of fact. If your a Geissele fan like me tho, suck it up, fork up the dough and you Do have a nice trigger. Unfortunately everything with HK attached to it comes with a premium price tag and Geissele took full advantage of the situation. They themselves couldn’t tell why it costs over double the amount of their comparable triggers. I guess I can’t complain because I’m one of the idiots that pay the price for it so it’s not helping the cause. Overall it breaks at an average 4lb 13oz Good Trigger for sure, for the price and being HK Mr556 compatible you’d think they took the hammer down safety activation into account but no , it’s the same as a mil-spec or any other Non HK Trigger that works in Mr556. The hammer does have more mass up top, does this help I’m any way? So far it doesn’t matter, thousands of rounds with no issues beforehand but other than that is no different from an SSA. Wished It was SSA-E equivalent but it is what it is. I’ll keep my WC nearby in case the kool aid wears off and sell this one but since I originally wanted this trigger in my HK build I’m have to scratch that itch and see how it goes. In a nutshell, If you don’t have to have a Geissele, spend 1/3 the pride and get an arguably better trigger in the likes of a Wilson Combat And save $300 or so for something else. if you have to have this one , it won’t disappoint you, if you’re familiar with the SSA or G2S , it is almost a mirror comparison in overall feel.
