Smooth Operation and sharp. Machine work is well done. Good quality steel. Handle fits the hand nicely and is easy to grip. Doesn't snag on the pocket when retrieving. Good brand with a relatively good reputation, but haven't had to return anything yet. Gerber is doing more innovative knives and this one is one the new designs that has many different finishes. I purchased the black because it is going to be used in harsh environments.
