Fabricator's Review of GG&G GS-1 FIRE System Optical Mounting Rail
Do you know what "NTCH" means with your AR-15? (Nose to charge handle for you lazy picnic table shooters and pretend zombie warriors)... If you shoot an AR-platform with your nose touching the charge handle, AND you are over 5' tall (and have a normal nose), your neck extends to the point that you will need 3" of cantilever to obtain the correct eye relief for a traditional telescopic sight ("scope"). Most cantilever mounts are simply not correctly made for "NTCH" positioning; not unless you have the neck of a Giraffe or the nose of a... Oh you get the idea... Just buy the GG&G mount and read below on correct ring height... Seriously; look below and read... Free advice follows....
This product makes "NTCH" possible and looks great doing it; buy it and begin positioning yourself against the stock properly. Then learn to shoot like a real rifleman... Look up Project Appleseed. Also note that it adds 1/2" to the mounting height---Correct "co-witness" was 1.425-1.450" BEFORE adding the GG&G mount--it now requires rings of a CENTER HEIGHT of 0.925"-0.950" to have the correct height. Now if we could get ALL the ring manufacturers to list ACTUAL CENTER height for their rings and not "receiver to underside of tube" OR "low-medium-tall, etc...." We aren't selling socks or swimwear... Give us real measurements!!!
