The metal isn't strong enough for a shotgun - GG&G Mossberg 500 Sling & Flashlight Mount Combo

It mounted on my Maverick 88 12G 18.5in barrel just fine. I attached a light and mount for the light that came to a total weight of about 2oz in addition to a magpul sling. I took my new shotgun setup to a defensive shotgun class that started off with birdshot and after about 8 rounds of Federal game load 2-3/4" #8 shot I noticed that my flashlight was not pointing straight inline with the barrel anymore at about a 20 degree cant.I bent it back thinking maybe it bent when I was transporting it in my bag but after another 10 rounds of birdshot it was bent again and even further than before. After bending it back two more times I just let it be once we got to the buckshot portion of the class. The buck shot bent it to a 45 degree angle. I'm gonna keep it on there since it's on a home defense gun and it won't see much, if any, action. If I could go back in time I would have looked at something else.
