This end plate is a great way to hit two birds with one stone. You need an end plate anyway, so why not install one that serves another function? Unlike some, this GG&G plate is made of steel like a traditional mil-spec plates and it features a lower-profile 1.25" loop. The machining of it is also higher quality than your typical mil-spec plate. It's very clean, and mated up with the rear of the receiver perfectly. You can't tell from any photos, but it does in fact have the oval protrusion at the receiver side so as to index with the hole below the buffer tube threads. The only downside to this is plate is that it's kind of expensive, but everything worth having on your AR always is.
Pros: quality machining/finish, durability, utility
Cons: expensive
