Left hand version is reversible
I ordered the left handed version thinking the loop would be on the left side as the picture seems to show the left handed version having the loop on the left side. To my initial dismay, mine arrived, and the loop was on the right side.
Much to my surprise, it is completely reversible, as it is flat, not formed to fit into the indent in the receiver below the buffer tower. Instead it has a thick washer attached via screw that can be swapped to either face to reverse its handedness.

Renders the rifle innoperable
When installed with no sling there's enough space between the loop and forward assist to get a sheet of paper in between, but not enough space for an index card. This means that with my sling installed the forward assist is pressed into the tweets just enough to lock the bolt closed. I didn't think it was possible but GG&G really screwed the pooch on this one.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Disables any rifle it's installed on
Best Used for:
- Making a weapon inoperable.
Would recommend: No
Nice Alternative to Standard Plate
This end plate is a great way to hit two birds with one stone. You need an end plate anyway, so why not install one that serves another function? Unlike some, this GG&G plate is made of steel like a traditional mil-spec plates and it features a lower-profile 1.25" loop. The machining of it is also higher quality than your typical mil-spec plate. It's very clean, and mated up with the rear of the receiver perfectly. You can't tell from any photos, but it does in fact have the oval protrusion at the receiver side so as to index with the hole below the buffer tube threads. The only downside to this is plate is that it's kind of expensive, but everything worth having on your AR always is.
Pros: quality machining/finish, durability, utility
Cons: expensive
