Sleek, sturdy, clear bright picture

Written on Jan 02, 2026

Sturdy little package. Smooth lines on a solid little body. Convenient bikini cover. Auto illumination is very convenient and works well. Reticle is clear. No electronic malfunctions in first 2 months of owning it, with it on (in standby when not in use) all the time. Solid mount & tight lockup. Lightweight. Small size. Snag free adjustment turrets conveniently turn with a coin or screwdriver.

Functional, but questionable quality

Written on Dec 13, 2025

If this is the cheapest available, and you're not picky and on a shoe-string budget, this might be ok for you.

But... 2 of 3 I ordered had holes for the safety spring that were too deep. The safety still functions, but switches positions far too easily. These holes were also placed a little too close to the inner wall, but were still functional. The possibility of the safety being inadvertently switched on/off is very high compared to a safety that has more resistance to being switched.

All 3 had flashing that needed to be removed in various places.

The fit on all 3 to the receiver is looser than any other A2 pistol grip I've bought. It still fits properly once tightened down -- no visible gaps.

Otherwise, they all function once installed.

Solid trigger at its price point

Written on Nov 29, 2025

For the price, especially on sale, this is a solid choice for a 2 stage trigger.

I installed the trigger, and it functions fine. The trigger felt a bit rough for the first 50-100 pulls, then started to smooth out some. I expect it will do so more, as the sear surfaces were unpolished after the finish coat. As the polishing mimics a few hundred to thousand rounds of fire and the wear it causes on the trigger, this is expected.

It has (with lighter hammer spring installed) a notably lighter pull than a mil-spec or Griffin's 2 Stage trigger, but not as light as most of my 2 stage triggers (Geissele G2S, LaRue MBT-2s, Timney Targa, Hiperfire Xtreme 2 Stage). As the sears came unpolished, it should not be surprising that the pull isn't as smooth as those triggers either, but again, it smooths out with usage. The pull weight through the first stage feels less consistent than most of the more expensive triggers I've used.

My feelings on it from dry firing are that I prefer it to Schmid Tool 2 stage triggers (Aero and other sell these re-branded) that seem to be in the same price range. It's not as smooth or steady as the LaRue MBT-2S or the Geissele G2S which are a little more expensive.

For the price, it's a good trigger. It's an affordable upgrade from milspec that's appropriate to install in a DMR build or a hunting rifle, or even a defensive weapon. It also would be, with the heavier hammer installed, appropriate for professional usage, depending on your personal tr

Sturdy tube for A5/Vltor (8") length buffer systems

Written on Nov 06, 2025

For use with rifle buffer spring, A5 length buffer (or equivalent) on an AR-15. This is not a standard carbine buffer tube.

The 8" internal length allows a rifle buffer spring and a longer and potentially heavier buffer. The longer buffer system mimics the less-finicky original AR-15 rifle length buffer + tube setup, but in a shorter package. This "opens the operational envelope" -- that is, it puts the spring's force is more consistent through the cycle, creating a smoother cycle and allowing the system to tolerate other parts being further toward the limits of their specifications.

All that said about the A5 buffer system, this specific buffer tube is a quality blue-collar solution. The anodization is thick and hard matte black. The inside has the appropriate dry-film lube coating. At the inside the base of the tube, there's a puddle of this coating, but it doesn't affect function. The manufacture and finish are excellent.

There's a few places where this product could contain some simple user-friendly design upgrades that other A5 tubes come with standard. As another reviewer mentioned, it would be nice if the tube were designed with a cutout for the buffer retainer, to ease in alignment during installation. Also, the tube has 8 positions for adjusting a stock, but the rear most isn't at the rear of the stock. The track for the stock position holes terminates short of the rear of the tube. A design that moves the last adjustment position hole to the rear of th

Left hand version is reversible

Written on Oct 22, 2025

I ordered the left handed version thinking the loop would be on the left side as the picture seems to show the left handed version having the loop on the left side. To my initial dismay, mine arrived, and the loop was on the right side.

Much to my surprise, it is completely reversible, as it is flat, not formed to fit into the indent in the receiver below the buffer tower. Instead it has a thick washer attached via screw that can be swapped to either face to reverse its handedness.

Nice little organizer

Written on Oct 19, 2025

Great for light weight items, like fishing tackle, small firearm parts, small tools, small non-metal parts.

Long parts storage can be accomplished with removing dividers along a row. Dividers between rows can't be removed. So no items that are long and wide can be stored.

Nice light duty sling

Written on Oct 10, 2025

It's a decently sturdy simple sling. It's comfortable, customizable, and light weight. None of the buckles are too large, and all are located in good places. Not heavy duty, but good for carrying a gun for hunting, 3-gun, and other light to mid duty.

Exactly what it says it is

Solid taper pins. Correct dimensions. Correct finish. Functioned correctly to pin FSB. There's not really a whole not more to analyze about a single taper pin.

Good option for extra ammo on a lever action

Written on May 14, 2025

I installed this on my Henry X Model .38/.357. I wanted some extra ammo storage and a versatile site mounting solution. This worked perfectly. Installation was simple with the correct screwdriver bits.

This proved particularly versatile, as even with a scope mounted with Warne steel rings, the factory fiber optic iron sights of are visible through the groove down the center of the picatinny rail.

The cartridge holders are nice and flexible, accommodating the vast majority of lever action rifle cartridges you may own.
