I would trust an IR laser to hold zero on this. I milled off the part that protrudes forward of the front sight and also put some blue loctite on the bolts. This would be a perfect addition to a budget rifle that needs a sling mount and a weapon light and nothing else. Keep It Simple Stupid.
Pros:
- Solid mount, simple to install, alleviates the need for heavy or expensive rail systems.
- Locates your sling to the 9 o'clock.
Cons:
- The rail protrudes forward of the front sight post, which may interfere with a suppressor if it's closer to the front sight.
Best Used for:
- Weapon lights
