I had to use a vice to open it up enough to slide on.
I used it on a Pardner Pump. Not sure if this was the cause of the tightness or not.
Most 870 parts are supposed to work for the Pardner except the barrels(The barrel ring is different).
Pros: Tougher than polymer which will break easily
Cons: Was very tight.
