Osprey's Review of Glock OEM Performance Flat Faced Pistol Trigger

I'm perfectly capable of shooting a stock Glock well, and I was willing to do so if I couldn't find a trigger that worked for me. I initially tried the Polydat kit from Overwatch, but I immediately took it out of the gun and sent it back because funnily enough, I like having take up and don't like having such a crisp wall. I resumed my dry fire regimen, and after a couple weeks, I had my store credit available, and I decided to grab the last GPT that OP had. I went into this knowing that older reviews had mixed opinions on this trigger, some people loved them, and some people did not, some of the early ones were downright unreliable. If it wasn't for Ben Stoeger putting about 6000 on one, and Range Therapist putting 30,000 on his, I might not have even bothered. All that is to say that I went into this purchase with some apprehension. Luckily, the trigger I got is excellent, and I would put it right up there with my PDP, which has 1500+ rounds through it, and a bit better than my P365 build from last year that has 3500+rds through it. Now, I should be clear that I have only been dry firing for the duration of the week, and hopefully I can write a revised review in the future after I have a couple thousand through the gun.

I want to add a word of warning. I have noticed that older examples of the GPT apparently have consistency issues (1 year or more). I do not know if current examples have that same problem, and until I have the opportunity to get a second for the G47, and probably a spare for the backup 19, I will not know. So I may have just gotten lucky with this one.

I should also add that some people may not like the GPT for carry, but I personally don't understand that way of thinking. As long as the internal safeties are maintained (they are) then the gun is still safe to carry. The change in feel should not be a concern as those who train should be doing a drill like trigger control at speed, and that will allow you to go from off the trigger to breaking a shot without disturbing your sights...not to mention that people who talk about "accidentally discharging a round" are breaking a cardinal rule of gun safety in the first place. Not to mention that my example has a clearly defined wall and the right amount of takeup prior to a nice distinct break, with a very immediate reset.

Good luck, happy training, and stay safe.

Cons:
  • potentially inconsistent QC
